Peer Review Process
Double-blind peer review is applied to all manuscripts submitted to the journal. This means that reviewers do not have access to authors' names or institutional information, and vice versa.
Editorial board members and external experts may also serve as reviewers by invitation.
The editor's evaluation and decision will be on the basis of the following conditions;
- The authors of the submitted manuscript and the proposed reviewers work at different institutions,
- Furthermore, the authors of the submitted manuscript and the proposed reviewers have not been involved with a joint study within the last three years,
All supplementary materials included in the submitted manuscript will be peer reviewed as well.
Peer review is conducted online through the submission system, with reviewers and authors logging in with their user accounts.
In accordance with the transparency rules, the reviewers' reports are archived for use in dispute resolution.
Submission: In order to submit articles to Surgical Revolutions and Artificial Intelligence, authors are required to create a user account in the online submission system. All authors should be involved in the review process. The responsible author is the one who handles the submission and correspondence during the review process.
Preliminary Review/Technical Review: During the preliminary and technical review, we ensure that submitted articles adhere to the journal's spelling rules. If any information is missing, such as the article's structure, use of sources, author and institution information, etc., we request that the author complete it within one week.
In addition, the main text of the article is scanned with the plagiarism detection program iThenticate, and the similarity rate should not exceed 20%. If the article is found to have a similarity rate above the specified threshold, it will be returned to the author along with a plagiarism report and is expected to be rewritten.
The article will be evaluated by the journal's statistics editor once the necessary revisions have been made. The Statistics Editor may request additional revisions if deemed necessary.
The editor will assign reviewers to the article after these steps are completed.
Evulation: Manuscripts are peer-reviewed by three reviewers. The editor may appoint additional reviewers if necessary. The editors reserve the right to return manuscripts for rewriting.
Reviewers have the right to request an extension (2 weeks) for their review.
The author will be asked to resubmit/upload the corrected full text file with a cover letter in response to the reviewers' comments within 2 weeks. Corrections will be accepted only after approval by the reviewers.
Surgical Revolutions and Artificial Intelligence allows the author to withdraw the manuscript if there are delays in the review process.
Surgical Revolutions and Artificial Intelligence reserves the right to return the article if the author's revisions are delayed.
Once the layout of accepted articles is complete, they will be submitted to the author for final approval. At this stage, there is an expectation that the author will read the entire article carefully. If the author requests a correction or change to the accepted article, the Editorial Board will review the request and make a decision based on its impact on the content. Requests for corrections or changes that do not require a second round of review may be accepted.
If requested by the author, the publication certificate will be prepared for accepted articles.
The order of publication of accepted articles will be determined by the Editor(s). The final decision will be made by the Editor-in-Chief.
No fees or charges are required for manuscript processing or publishing materials in the journal.
